Launching the Pan Mediterranean Geotechnical Engineering Conference during my mandate as president of ISSMGE turned a dream of many into reality! Endorsed by the Mediterranean member societies, the PMGEC is set to become a new regional conference series under the auspices of ISSMGE. LGES is taking on a monumental responsibility of organizing and hosting the inaugural PMGEC. The team is doing an outstanding job of putting my home country on the global engineering map, particularly during Lebanon’s new political era and its ongoing economic revival. The ISSMGE board and I are fully committed to supporting this event, with plans to hold our annual meeting at the conference.
