Visitors to Lebanon may require a visa based on their nationality. Many countries can obtain a visa upon arrival at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport, while others may need to apply in advance. We recommend checking with the Lebanese General Security website or your local embassy for the latest visa regulations.
- Citizens of 7 countries can visit Lebanon visa-free.
- Nationals of 128 countries can get a visa on arrival.
- Citizens of 100 countries need to obtain a visa before visiting.
- Visa-free entry has a maximum stay of 3 months.

Typically, passports should have at least six months of validity from the date of entry into Lebanon, an application form, a recent photograph, proof of accommodation, and a return ticket. It is also recommended to have travel insurance.
By Air: Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY) is Lebanon’s main international gateway, offering flights from major global destinations. The airport is located just 9 km from downtown Beirut and is easily accessible by taxi or private transport.
Middle East Airlines – Air Liban S.A.L., more commonly known as Middle East Airlines, is the flag carrier of Lebanon, with its head office in Beirut, near Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport. It operates scheduled international flights to Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa from its base at Rafic Hariri International Airport.
Taxis are available at the airport. It is advisable to confirm the fare before your trip or use a trusted airport transport service. Some hotels also offer airport pick-up services upon request.
Lebanon offers a variety of accommodation options, including luxury hotels, guesthouses, boutique hotels, serviced apartments, Airbnb rentals, apart-hotels, guesthouses… We recommend booking early, as availability may be limited during the conference period. Flight Booking, Transportation & Accommodation
- Taxis: Taxis are widely available, but always confirm the fare beforehand.
- Car Rentals: Renting a car is a great option for exploring Lebanon, but traffic in Beirut can be challenging.
- Public Transport: Lebanon has a network of minibuses and shared taxis (service taxis) that operate on fixed routes, though they may not always be the most predictable option for visitors.
- The official currency is the Lebanese Pound (LBP), but US dollars (USD) are widely accepted.
- Credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants, and shops, but it’s advisable to carry some cash for small purchases and transportation.
- ATMs are available across the country, dispensing USD.
Lebanon is a multilingual country where Arabic is the official language, spoken by the majority of the population. Lebanese Arabic, a local dialect, is the most widely used in daily conversations. French and English are also widely spoken. Additionally, some communities in Lebanon speak Armenian, and few speak Syriac, reflecting the country’s diverse cultural heritage.

- Beirut & Coastal Areas: Temperatures range from 15°C to 22°C (59°F to 72°F), with pleasant days and cooler evenings.
- Mountains (e.g., Faraya, Cedars, Chouf): Expect colder temperatures, between 5°C and 15°C (41°F to 59°F), with the possibility of remaining snow in higher altitudes.
- Bekaa Valley: Generally cooler than the coast, with daytime temperatures around 10°C to 18°C (50°F to 64°F).
