Terms and Conditions

REGISTRATION

  • Binding Commitment:
    Registration for the Pan Mediterranean Geotechnical Engineering Conference (PMGEC) is considered a binding agreement. By submitting the registration form and completing payment, participants agree to abide by the conference’s terms and conditions.
  • Online Registration:
    All registrations must be completed through the official PMGEC online registration platform. After submitting your registration and completing payment, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address provided. This confirmation serves as your official proof of registration.
  • Payment Requirement:
    Registration is only confirmed upon receipt of payment. Until payment is received, your registration will be considered provisional.
  • Participant Categories:
    • Professionals: Participants who do not qualify under the categories of Young Members or Students.
    • Young Members: Delegates under the age of 35 at the time of registration. A valid form of identification (e.g., passport or national ID) confirming date of birth must be uploaded during registration.
    • Students: Individuals under 26 years of age who are enrolled in a full-time academic program.
      • Required Documentation:
        Students must upload proof of student status at the time of registration. Acceptable documents include: A valid student ID card, or A recent receipt showing tuition or academic fees paid.
  • Verification and Approval:
    PMGEC reserves the right to verify the eligibility of participants registered under discounted categories (Young Members and Students). If the required documentation is missing or does not meet eligibility criteria, the registration may be revised to the appropriate category, and the participant will be notified accordingly.
  • Changes or Cancellations:
    Any requests to modify or cancel your registration must be submitted in writing to the conference secretariat. Applicable cancellation policies and deadlines will be outlined separately under the “Cancellation Policy” section.

VISA REQUIREMENTS / INVITATION LETTER 

It is the attendee’s sole responsibility to take care of visa requirements. If you require an entry visa, you must allow sufficient time for the visa application procedure. You can share your registration details with the responsible authorities. However, PMGEC will not contact embassies and consulates on your behalf. To receive an invitation letter for the conference, you must first register and pay the registration fees in full. Once registered, you can fill a form to request an invitation letter on this page: Invitation Letter Request 

INSURANCE

It is the responsibility of the attendee to arrange appropriate insurance they may desire in connection with their attendance at the conference. PMGEC shall not be liable for any loss, liability or damage to personal property.

 

PRIVACY DISCLAIMER

  • Personal Details
    By registering for PMGEC, your name, organization, and country may be included in a delegate list and shared, if necessary, with parties directly involved in the conference. These may include venues, accommodation providers, sponsors, key suppliers, and organizers of future PMGEC events. To protect your privacy, your email address and other personal information will remain confidential and will not be shared outside of The Pan Mediterranean Geotechnical Engineering Conference (PMGEC) and the secretariat of the Lebanese Geotechnical Engineering Society (LGES).


CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

  • Notification of Cancellation
    All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to the PMGEC 2026 Secretariat via email (contact@pmgec-leb.com). Cancellations will not be accepted by phone or through social media.
  • Refund Schedule
    Cancellations received before February 25, 2026, will be eligible for a 90% refund of the registration fee; a 10% administrative fee will be retained.
    No refunds will be issued for cancellations made on or after February 25, 2026.
  • Substitution Policy
    If you are unable to attend, you may nominate a substitute delegate from your organization at no additional cost. All substitution requests must be made in writing and approved by the conference secretariat.
  • No-Show Policy
    Registered delegates who do not attend the conference and have not formally canceled, according to the date mentioned above, will not be eligible for a refund.
  • Event Cancellation
    In the unlikely event that PMGEC is cancelled due to circumstances beyond the control of the organizers (force majeure), 90% of the registration fee will be refunded; a 10% administrative fee will be retained.
  • Event Postponement
    In the unlikely event that PMGEC is postponed due to circumstances beyond the control of the organizers (force majeure) and if the registrant is unable to attend on the rescheduled date, 90% of the registration fee will be refunded; a 10% administrative fee will be retained.
  • VISA related
    Please note that failure to obtain a visa to Lebanon will not be considered a valid reason for cancellation, and no refund or cancellation allowance will be granted in such cases.
